Bujanovac, Vranje – Mladen Sarcevic, Minister of Education, ordered an urgent extraordinary surveillance over the taking of primary school final tests in the schools whose students had achieved dubiously good test result in Serbian or mother tongue, mathematics and in the combined test. 

Advisors from the school administration came unannounced to 28 elementary schools in Pcinj, Raska and Nis districts, and took away the final exam documents. All the tests and reports are now at the Institute for Quality Education, which is analyzing the students' works.

“We can not yet disclose the details because we have not completed the analysis, but we will finish controlling the tests by Friday and will soon afterwards send a complete report to the Ministry of Education, from which we got the list of schools to be checked, "said Dragana Stanojevic, Head of the Center for Exams of the Institute for Quality Education.

Tests taken at certain elementary schools in Bujanovac, Vranje, Novi Pazar, Prokuplje, Surdulica, Nis, Vladicin Han, Trgoviste and some other places are being checked. The deviations at the controversial schools were a few points above the national average. For instance, the average number of disputed points in 12 schools in Pcinj district was 22.78 out of a maximum of 30, while the average for the whole of Serbia is 17.63 points. Also, students of those schools achieved unrealistically better results compared to those they got at the end of the sixth, seventh and eighth grades.
