Bujanovac – The eighth generation of students of the Subotica Faculty of Economics’ Department in Bujanovac began their studies at this institution of higher education.
The Faculty in Bujanovac begins the new academic year with 78 freshmen, while 53 Serbian students and 25 Albanian students obtained student report-cards.
As in the previous 8 years, Albanian students will be attending and taking classes in their mother tongue in 30 percent of the faculty subjects, which is the result of the co-operation between the Subotica Faculty and the State Tetovo Faculty from Macedonia.
“We have been living and working with you in Bujanovac for eight years. A large number of students have successfully completed basic studies so far, and we have had graduates in master studies in the previous two years. I want you to follow the paths of their success, "said the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Alexander Grubor, PhD, to the freshmen at a ceremony commemorating the beginning of their student life.
The new academic citizens were also welcomed by the Provincial Secretary for Higher Education in the Government of the AP of Vojvodina, Professor Zoran Milosevic, who said that they were "a great joy".
“You are a great joy, because one faculty from the north of the country is here in the south because of you. The faculty has become recognizable for levelling all our differences, such as national, customs-related and religious ones. You are the best bridge between us, I congratulate you on your choice to belong to the best kind – educated people and I know you will be needed by everyone because of that, "Mr. Milosevic said.
The Bujanovac department had room for 90 students in the first year of basic academic studies, while all 78 new students will be educated at the expense of the state budget.
