Bujanovac – In response to the needs of working parents, the extended program for the first and second graders of the “Branko Radicevic” elementary school was reintroduced.

The extended program is currently followed by 33 Serbian and Roma students.

"Given that 70% of first and second grade students come from marginalized groups and are children who are not native speakers of the Serbian language and who do not have sufficient support and assistance provided by their parents in overcoming teaching units, additional work and the help of experts can significantly contribute to their achievement of better school results", says Nataša Savić, a teacher.

When it comes to the follow-up activities, the "Aprilijada" is being prepared, which will be held on the occasion of the World Day of Jokes, which is March 31.

The premises for multiple activities have been provided at the school for the children following the extended day program: a fully equipped, spacious classroom with educational material, toys, board games, a TV and a computer, painting material and comfortable furniture for rest and recreation.

Homework assignments are done at a certain period of time every day. Upon settling the issue of schoolwork, leisure time is designed according to the individual preferences of each child. Leisure activities of students are mostly recreational and creative in character.
