Bujanovac – A total of 280 million dinars have been provided for the complete renovation of the Bujanovac schools "Sveti Sava" and "Branko Radicevic", while works are going to start this summer, people from the local self-government said.
Just a day before the ceiling collapsed in one of the classrooms of the “St. Sava” secondary school, a contract for the reconstruction of the school, worth 92.5 million dinars, as well as another one, worth about 185 million dinars, which is for the renovation of the “Branko Radicevic” elementary school, reached the local self-government.
The substantial funds for the reconstruction of the dilapidated buildings "from the ground up to the roof" are a donation from the European Union, or the German bank KFW, through the Republican Office for Public Investment Management, based on the projects of the municipal Office for Local Economic Development (KLER).
On that occasion, Deputy Mayor Stojanca Arsic said: “We have received contract proposals, to which we have no objections. The municipality has provided all the necessary supporting documentation. It remains for the designers to provide final pricing estimates, which will be followed by tendering. Works will begin at the end of this school year and will continue throughout the summer.”
Judging by his words, problems with heating, leakage, installations, insulation, ruined toilets and gyms with collapsed floors, will soon be over.
“The reconstruction will done from the ground up to the ceiling, with particular attention to energy efficiency. The designs are so detailed that even gutters with heaters are provided to melt ice and snow. The gyms will also be completely renovated,” Mr. Arsic said.
