Мedvedja, Lebane – Works on completion of the Dialysis Center at the Health Center in Lebane began, which is of great importance for kidney patients not only from this municipality, but also for those from the neighboring municipalities of Medvedja and Bojnik.

Thanks to implementation of the project, for which the European Union and the Government of Switzerland, through the European Progress development program, earmarked five million dinars, and the municipality of Lebane allocated the same amount, the final building works,  as well as electrical, ventilation and air conditioning  ones, will be carried out.

“Our male and female patients will no longer have to travel to Leskovac for dialysis because the  medical services that they need will be available in Lebane, while the ambulances  required for other medical interventions will be made available, too", said Vojin Trajkovic, the Director of the Health Center in Lebane.

Owing to the support provided by the EU and the Government of Switzerland, the Health Center will get part of the medical equipment for the future Dialysis Center, which includes a defibrillator, an ECG unit, a patient monitor, eight beds and a sterilizer, while two doctors and eight nurses will undergo the necessary training.

As planned, the works should be completed within three months, while the contractor is the “Invest Product” construction company from Lebane, which was selected through a public procurement procedure.
