Bujanovac – Goran Nikolic, Director of the Electric Power Distribution Company in Vranje, said that experts of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) had found out eight illegal connections to the electric power grid in Bujanovac, which belonged to specific catering facilities located in Karadjordje Square.

Mr. Nikolic added that 13 illegal connections to the electric power grid had been recently discovered in Bujanovac and Presevo, which caused a damage of 7 million dinars to the Electric Power Industry of Serbia. 

“To our knowledge, the owners of those facilities reported minimal electric power consumption, while in reality they had spent far more. That was suspicious to the staff of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia, so that experts equipped with special devices for detecting illegal connections to the electric power grid came over from Nis to check and control those catering facilities.  Now the owners of the facilities are obliged to pay the actual power consumption, as well as reconnection charges, which amount to several hundred thousand dinars," Mr. Nikolic said.
