ELECTIONS FOR THE NATIONAL COUNCILS TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 4

Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja – Branko Ruzic, Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, called the elections for national minority councils for November 4.

Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja – Branko Ruzic, Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, called the elections for national minority councils for November 4.

Members of the national councils will be elected by 22 minority communities, of which 18 national minorities met the requirements for direct elections (Albanian, Ashkali, Bosniak, Bulgarian, Bunjevac, Vlach, Greek, Egyptian, Hungarian, German, Polish, Romany, Romanian, Ruthenian, Slovak, Slovenian, Ukrainian, Czech), as well as four national minorities for the elections through the electoral assembly (Macedonian, Croatian, Montenegrin and Russian).

The deadline for the submission of lists for direct elections is 15 days before the direct elections, or 30 days before the elections through the electoral assembly.

“After four years, we announce regular elections for national councils as the bodies that are very important for the preservation of traditions, culture, use of languages ​​and alphabets. According to the overwiew which was done on August 15, nearly 475,000 of our citizens enrolled in the voter register, "Minister Ruzic said.  

He once again urged all citizens who are members of minorities and live in Serbia to take advantage of the right to vote and to register in the special electoral list.
