Presevo – Thanks to the project "Eco Steps", which brought together schoolchildren, local residents and nature lovers, the cleaning of the forest belt of waste and vegetation was launched in Presevo, as well as the clearing of the path that students of the “Vuk Karadzic” primary school use on a daily basis.
Migrants from the Reception Center in Presevo also take part in the forest cleaning campaign, while the local self-government, too, will provide assistance by taking away the collected garbage.
The campaign, which began on May 29, was scheduled to last a few days, until the path that is around 150 meters long, along which the kids walk, is cleaned and fixed up. About a hundred students, teachers and supporting staff, as well as twenty or so migrants and locals, were involved in the first day of the cleaning campaign.
The project called "Let's Go Eco" is implemented with the assistance of the "Ana and Vlade Divac" Foundation, and with the support of the Open Society Foundation, for the purpose of providing assistance to the communities affected by the refugee crisis in Serbia.
