Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja – More frequent hand washing while preparing food, celebrating in several "tours" between which the room should be disinfected, guests should keep a distance and refrain from kissing – are the recommendations given prior to the season of celebration of patron saint days by Dr Branislav Tiodorovic, an epidemiologist and member of the Crisis Staff.   

"Without kissing the cake, while the guests should not sit too close to each other – that is how the autumn patron saint days should be celebrated and the hosts should think about that when they plan to invite gusets," says Dr.Tiodorovic for the South Serbia News portal.

“This means that the host will estimate how many guests he will receive, how many people can fit in the room where he will organize the celebration, so that that there  is a distance of a meter and a half between them ", says Dr Tiodorovic.

In order for the virus not to spread, the hosts should follow the customs carefully.

“When cutting the cake, you should not kiss it or do anything risky. The cake can be carried to the church, while you must enter the church with a mask on", said the epidemiologist.

"As the hosts gather the guests around the table, someone who is healthy and who is ready to take care of hygiene frequently should be in charge of the food on it," Dr Tiodorovic said.  

“The virus is sensitive at 58.6 degrees C, which means that everything that is cooked and baked is safe. The one who handles food must wash his/her hands more often, especially if the food is raw, such as the food used for appetizers”, said the epidemiologist.
