President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, Zoran Stankovic, spoke in Bujanovac with the Albanian political leaders regarding the textbooks that had been illegally brought into the country from Kosovo and Metohija, which were seized a few days ago in elementary school "Zenej Ajdini ", which is situated in the village of Rajince, near Presevo.

Mr. Stankovic said that 5, 060 books in the Albanian language were seized because they had no supporting documentation, adding that the books weren’t seized in a police activity, but in the activity taken by the Primary Prosecutor’s Office in Vranje.

Leader of the Democratic Party of Albanians, Ragmi Mustafa, said after the meeting that the books that had been seized in the school in Rajince were discussed in the meeting and that the matter would be dealt with by the Coordinating Body and the OSCE, and that those books would be returned to schoolchildren.

On that occasion, Zoran Stankovic, President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of  Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, pointed out that the laws and regulations must be respected and that all textbooks that are to be used must undergo a procedure provided by the Ministry of Education.

"Therefore, this procedure will be implemented in the coming period. We have nothing against these books being placed for the use of schoolchildren, provided this is done in accordance with the law, if they meet the legal requirements, or if some of them were approved in a previous period.  We also talked about the network of courts and prosecutor’s office, and agreed that we should hold talks with the relevant people from the Ministry of Justice, who would explain to the Albanian leaders the criteria by which the network of courts in the Republic of Serbia was created.”

The legally-set way implies that the Albanian National Council files a request, which is, thereupon, submitted to the Ministry of Education that approves textbooks.
