Bujanovac – Saip Kamberi, the Mayor of Bujanovac, handed out, at the Municipal Assembly’s hall, 154 decisions on the granting of subsidies to agricultural producers.

According to Mayor Kamberi, the pilot project of granting subsidies for agriculture was, thereby, completed. 

“The granting of subsidies to 291 farmers, which began earlier this year, continues today thanks to 154 new decisions," Mayor Kamberi said.

Following the budget revision, the total amount of municipal subsidies for agriculture was increased from 23 million dinars to 32.5 million dinars for the purpose of providing funds for the farmers who did not meet the requirements of the call in the first round.

"The commission that assessed the requests submitted at the beginning of the year gave the recommendation to accept the requirements of the farmers who are present today. We waited for the approval of the Ministry of Agriculture and as of tomorrow, we will start paying the subsidies, "said the Mayor, adding that he expected that subsidies would be paid to all farmers.by the end of the year.

As stated by Ruzica Andjelkovic, the Head of the Municipal Department of Commerce and Economic Development, the amount of subsidies ranged from 30,000 to 150,000 dinars.

Mirjana Petrovic from the village of Rakovac, one of those who received subsidies, said that she was pleased that “the government was finally making an effort to help farmers."

“We are investing in the farm equipment and funds were approved to us for that purpose. We have fended for ourselves so far. “

"I am very pleased. I am gradually improving production and will apply for subsidies next year, too" said Mustafa Redzail from the village of Letovice.

According to Mayor Kamberi, funds for the incentives in agriculture and industry will be planned in the budget for the next year, too, but the exact amount of funds that will be allocated for that purpose is still unknown.
