Vranje – Danish company “Centaur” that manufactures work uniforms for the catering, healthcare and food industries, which opened a manufacturing facility in Vranje on October 24, will receive almost one million euros in subsidies from the budget of the Republic of Serbia, according to a contract concluded by and between “Centaur Balkans” and the Ministry of Economy.
Vranje – Danish company “Centaur” that manufactures work uniforms for the catering, healthcare and food industries, which opened a manufacturing facility in Vranje on October 24, will receive almost one million euros in subsidies from the budget of the Republic of Serbia, according to a contract concluded by and between “Centaur Balkans” and the Ministry of Economy.
The contract between the Danish company and the Ministry of Economy was signed last year in Belgrade, and it states that “Centaur” will receive 940,358 euros from the budget of the Republic of Serbia over the next two years, after hiring 300 new workers on a permanent basis.
The Danes pledged by the contract that by the end of 2021 they would invest at least 800.380 euros, and 25% must be their own funds, and that the workers' wages would be no less than the legal minimum, which is currently around 28,000 dinars.
The first portion of the subsidy is 288,972 euros, and “Centaur” receives the money this year, after providing evidence that it employed 27 workers and invested 420,000 euros.
The company will get the second portion of the subsidies of 387,521 euros in 2020, after hiring 142 workers and investing 281,000 euros. In 2021, the company is obliged to hire another 131 workers and invest 99,380 euros in order to receive the rest of the subsidies in the amount of 263,864 euros.
“Centaur”, a work attire company, employs 150 people in a plant worth more than a million euros. The entire production of “Centaur” is export-oriented and all raw materials are from Germany, Italy and England, while Danish and Japanese fashion designers are in charge of designing the work clothes.
The company has facilities in China, Poland and Vietnam, while the main market for "Centaur" includes the European Union countries.
