Medvedja – As part of the project implemented by the "Center for Democracy and Development of South Serbia", a discussion with young people was organized and the results of a survey, which was conducted at the end of last year, were presented at the Assembly Hall of the municipality of Medvedja. 

Ljiljana Stojanovic, a journalist, who had conducted the survey of the young in the three municipalities, addressed the attendees of the event on behalf of the "Center for Democracy and Development of South Serbia". 

The respondents included young people from the Serbian, Albanian and Roma populations, students and highly educated people aged 18 to 28.

Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, welcomed the attendees and the young people present at the event, and particularly thanked Ljiljana Stojanovic on her response to young people’s concerns and on not bypassing Medvedja when important projects were implemented.  

“We are aware of the needs of the young and of the fact that they are the main driving force of any society, so that we have to focus on their problems and needs. When they are satisfied, Medvedja will go forward, because they pull development forward and come up with new ideas for the common good of the whole city, "Mayor Arsic said.

The results of the survey showed that all ethnic communities in the municipality of Medvedja had common cultural needs, similar problems and the same desires, which referred to the fact that Medvedja should be a place in which they would stay to live and work, start their families and spend their free time in a healthy and beautiful environment, which Medvedja is well-known for.

The project "How too Achieve Dialogue – Cultural Needs of Youth in Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja", is financed, through the European Progress program, by the European Union, the Swiss Government and the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
