Bujanovac – Presidents of the Bujanovac-based Beekeepers Association "Polen 2012" and the Association of Farmers from Kumanovo, Zarije Mitic and Momcilo Trajkovski, signed a memorandum on cross-border cooperation In Bujanovac.
The future partnership is aimed at working on joint projects, with which they would apply to international donors for funding.
“Our association was established in 1996. It brings together farmers, wine-growers, fruit- farmers, veterinarians and food producers from Kumanovo, Kocani, Kratovo and the neighboring cities. A similar memorandum has already been signed with the southwestern region of Bulgaria, while we have established cooperation with Slovenia, too. I am convinced that by connecting in this way, we will be able to act jointly with foreign financiers for the implementation of joint projects, which will further strengthen multi-year bonds between two adjacent and close areas and the people on both sides of the border, "said Mr. Trajkovski after the initialling of the memorandum.
The Beekeepers Association "Polen 2012", with the general support of beekeeping associations "Apikula" from the village of Nesalce, situated in the municipality of Bujanovac, planned its first step as part of the recently established cross-border cooperation.
“We are planning to organize, with the assistance of the local self-government, an international seminar for beekeepers in January 2017. We expect that our colleagues from the Association of Agricultural Producers from Kumanovo will be among the participants in this educational gathering,” said Zarije Mitic, the President of the Association of Beekeepers " Polen 2012 ."
Prior to the signing of the memorandum, a four-member delegations from Macedonia and representatives of the Bujanovac beekeeping association visited the municipal government, where they discussed possible forms of cooperation with Ruzica Andjelkovic, the head for economy and local economic development of the municipality of Bujanovac.
Also discussed at the meeting were rural development, as well as the management of trans-boundary waters and waste management.
