CONTROL ON CORRIDOR 10 IMPOSED

Belgrade-Presevo – The Ministry of Interior launched the “Safe Trip” campaign on Corridor 10,  which will last until September 15,  2014.

Belgrade-Presevo – The Ministry of Interior launched the “Safe Trip” campaign on Corridor 10,  which will last until September 15,  2014.

The campaign is aimed at ensuring a safe transit of people and goods through the territory of the Republic of Serbia and at providing a higher level of care and protection of passengers, given that a large number of crimes against foreign nationals in transit are committed on the international Corridor 10 road during the summer tourist season.

The “Safe Trip” campaign will be conducted by putting up posters and by giving out multilingual leaflets at the border- crossing points in Presevo, Gradina, Horgos and Batrovci, as well as at Traffic Police checkpoints at Bubanj potok, Simanovci and Nais, where passengers will be able to lodge written complaints against or commend the work of police officers.

The posters and leaflets will contain the basic information about emergency telephone numbers, as well as traffic warnings and information on the ways in which foreign nationals and citizens of the Republic of Serbia could report the instances of corrupt behavior in a simple and fast manner.

They will be able to lodge complaints against or praise the work of police officers, as well as to report the detected criminal offenses or those committed against them during their journey, by phoning 011/361-00-18. This is the phone number of the Operations Center of the Ministry of Interior, from where the calls will be diverted to interpreters for English or German and to police officers, which will ensure a faster taking of police measures for resolving the criminal offences.
