IKEA Serbia, MasterCard and Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation gathered around a common project called "I am Courageous!", which is aimed at supporting the economic empowerment of women in Serbia. The project aims to contribute to improving the position of women in working and social environments, while promoting the equality of women at home, too.
IKEA Serbia, MasterCard and Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation gathered around a common project called "I am Courageous!", which is aimed at supporting the economic empowerment of women in Serbia. The project aims to contribute to improving the position of women in working and social environments, while promoting the equality of women at home, too.
The call was issued as part of the "I am Courageous" project, through which the businesses founded by women and/or those run by women, as well as the legal entities that employ at least 50% of women and which, through this call, open at least one working place for women, will be supported. The main activity of the legal entities that will be supported is the manufacturing industry (toys, textile products, handicrafts, food, beverages/juices/syrups, decorative/household items, products for children and the like). Projects will be selected on the basis of their impact on women's employment, relevance and capacity to achieve progress and sustainability of the business upon the completion of the project.
In order to be able to apply for the allocation of funds, applicants must be registered legal entities owned by women, run by women or legal entities that have at least 50% of women among the employees. Activities must be realized only in the territory of the Republic of Serbia.
The following legal entities may submit an application to the competition:
• Micro enterprises
• Cooperatives, farms
• Male and female entrepreneurs
• Businesses that employ marginalized and vulnerable women
• Citizens' associations that have a mission to promote the economic independence and the status of women in society, and that have a commercial activity through which women are employed.
Legal entities that have business ideas can apply for grants ranging from 5,000 to 7,000 euros.
The competition is open from November 1 to December 15, 2018, until 5 pm.
