COMPETITION FOR ATTENDING THE TRAINING “A STEP FURTHER TO THE COMPREHENSIVE AND QUALITY CAREER GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS” (DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 9, 2019)

The Belgrade Open School (BOS) invites interested teachers and associates to apply for participating in the project "Career Guidance and Counseling for Better Employability of Young People – KVIS na BIS", which is implemented by the BOS with the financial support of the Solidar Suisse Office in Serbia.

The Belgrade Open School (BOS) invites interested teachers and associates to apply for participating in the project "Career Guidance and Counseling for Better Employability of Young People – KVIS na BIS", which is implemented by the BOS with the financial support of the Solidar Suisse Office in Serbia.

By participating in the project, male and female participants will get:

  • Attendance of a two-day accredited training aimed at enhancing the competencies of male and female teachers to provide quality services focused on career management skills for students;
  • Mentoring support from the BOS team for the implementation of training lessons learned through the implementation of KVIS activities for male and female students.

The training lasts for two days, is accredited by the Institute for the Advancement of Education and carries 16 points.

The two-day training will be held in Belgrade on September 19 and 20, 2019. All costs of the training, accommodation and transportation of the selected participants will be borne by the Belgrade Open School.

After the training, school teams will have an obligation to organize and implement career guidance and counseling activities, with the aim of applying the acquired knowledge and skills to at least 20 male and female students.

It is expected that KVIS activities for students will be organized by October 31, 2019 at the latest, and that school representatives will send reports on workshops to the BOS team by November 15.

Eligible to apply to the call are two teachers or professional associates per school, who are  members of the KVIS school team and who actively provide services and are responsible for writing and implementing the School Plan and the Career Guidance and Counseling Program.

A total of 20 representatives from 10 secondary schools throughout Serbia will be selected for the competition.

Selection criteria for schools are the following: 

  • Fulfillment of administrative requirements (two filled-in application forms on behalf of the school, submitted letter of support signed and certified by the headmaster);
  • Motivation of the registered teachers to participate in the seminar; 
  • Willingness of the registered teachers to fulfill project obligations; 
  • Representation of schools from different regions and districts; 
  • Representation of participants of both sexes;
  • School readiness to continue to develop KVIS services after completion of the project and in line with good practice standards at the national and European level.
