The Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Bill on Amendments to the Law on the Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases in order to ensure strict compliance with the measures for protecting the health and lives of the citizens and to maintain the healthcare system and the country's economy.

In the future, in addition to sanitary inspection, the municipal inspection and the municipal police will also be responsible for the implementation of the measures, both for physical and legal entities. They will be able to file misdemeanor reports. The amount of fines for not wearing masks indoors and disrespecting the maintenance of physical distance shall remain unchanged – 5,000 dinars for physical entities and from 50,000 to 300,000 dinars for legal entities, but their application will be faster and more efficient.

Those who pay the fine within eight days shall pay half the fine. Companies, entrepreneurs and catering facilities shall be fined, through a misdemeanor report, for non-compliance with the measures, such as the maintenance of appropriate distance between the tables and the absence of disinfectants or corona virus wardens.
