Under the agreement on rendering services related to the project "Support to Municipalities in Improving Social Inclusion through the Employment of Vulnerable and Marginalized Groups", which is financed, through the European Progress program, by the European Union, the Swiss Government and the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Center for Social Policy issued a public call for awarding self-employment grants with the aim of economically empowering vulnerable and marginalized groups in the area of the local self-governments of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.
The self-employment grants are intended for unemployed persons registered with the National Employment Office, who belong to the category of less employable persons: young people up to 30 years old, surplus employees, members of the Roma minority, unemployed persons over 50 years old, the disabled and low-skilled or unskilled persons ( provided they are functionally literate).
Women and single parents shall get additional points.
The self-employment grants amounting to up to 3,000.00 euros for the equipment are allocated to unemployed persons with the best business plans. The total budget for grants is 81,000.00 euros.
An unemployed person may qualify for self-employment grants if he/she plans to run the business in the following areas: production/manufacturing of handicrafts, food industry (food processing) and service industry.
Info sessions will be held from November 14 to 21, 2016 in the period from 12 am to 4 pm, when all interested persons will be able to obtain more information about the terms of the public call. The information on the exact dates and venues of those sessions will be available on the website of the Center for Social Policy.
The filled-in application form, along with the business plan, is to be submitted personally or by mail to the Educational Center, Masarikov trg 32, Leskovac, by Friday, December 9, 2016.
