The Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja and the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development are going to have a presentation of the Ministry of Economy and Development Fund’s program at the community center in Bujanovac at 12 o’clock noon on Wednesday, April 13.

Medvedja, Lebane – As part of the activity “Let’s Clean Serbia”, the cleaning of the Jablanica River, which is one of the dirtiest rivers in South Serbia, began. The river will be cleaned from Medvedja to Lebane and Leskovac. Involved in the cleaning activity are members of the Association of Fishermen “Veternica” and the Agricultural Inspection of the Leskovac region.

Bujanovac – Verica Kalanovic, Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister, said in Bujanovac that that municipality was suitable for foreign investments because it was situated next to Corridor 10. Following the meeting with Saip Kamberi, President of the Municipality of Bujanovac, and Natasa Filic, President of the Municipal Assembly of Medvedja, Ms. Kalanovic said that it had been agreed to submit a list of plots of land that were free for foreign investments in industry to the Agency for Foreign Investments as soon as possible.

At a competition held at the Academy of Central European Schools (ACES), which was organized in Prague last weekend, schools from Subotica and Bujanovac were, among 101 competing schools from the region, selected as the best ones in the category of “conflict resolution” and “intercultural team work”.

Bujanovac – Over the next couple of days, 28 teachers from six primary and two secondary schools from the municipality of Bujanovac are going to improve their knowledge of Serbian at the “Naim Fraseri” primary school. The primary and secondary teachers at issue teach children whose mother tongue isn’t Serbian.

Vranje – A group of 35 national and international journalists was on a three-day visit to the Pcinj district until yesterday. The group consisted of professional print and electronic media journalists from Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy, Austria, Greece, Spain, Turkey, Russia, Bulgaria and the Media Department of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, аs well as from domestic information houses, such as RTS, B92, Prva, Tanjug, Beta, Politika, Blic, Vecernje novosti and representatives of the Executive Committee of the Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia (IJAS) and Media Center from Belgrade.

A promotion of the Serbian-Albanian Dictionary of Legal Terms was held at the Faculty of Law in Nis on Tuesday, March 29, 2011. The said Dictionary of Legal Terms will improve the classes at the Faculty of Law in Medvedja. This reading material will provide considerable assistance to judges and prosecutors at courts of law, prosecutor’s offices and magistrate courts in Bujanovac and Presevo.
