CALL OF THE DIVAC FOUNDATION FOR GRANTING SCHOLARSHIPS TO SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THE 2019/2020 SCHOOL YEAR (DEADLINE:  AUGUST 23, 2019)

The Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, in cooperation with a group of donors, issued a call for granting scholarships to male and female students who enroll in the first, second, third or fourth grade of secondary school in the territory of the Republic of Serbia in 2019.

The Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, in cooperation with a group of donors, issued a call for granting scholarships to male and female students who enroll in the first, second, third or fourth grade of secondary school in the territory of the Republic of Serbia in 2019.

Eligible to get the scholarships are male and female students who, in September 2019, enroll in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade of secondary school, which is founded by the Republic of Serbia, an autonomous province or a local self-governmental unit, who have achieved excellent school results and behaved well in school. Special priority in granting scholarships will be given to male and female candidates from vulnerable social groups (materially vulnerable families, single-parent families, refugee and displaced families, persons with disabilities, child/parent suffering from chronic illnesses, etc.).

When applying for the call, male and female candidates are to submit the required documentation:

  1. Application form;
  2. Certificate of achieved school results during previous education (copy of the school booklet/ certificate for the last three years of schooling) 
  3. Certificate of achievements in competitions (copies of diplomas, etc.)
  4. Certificate of average monthly income per member of the family of a student (confirmation from the employer of the amount of net income for the last 3 months, pension sheet or certificate of the national employment office for unemployed parents/guardians)
  5. Printed data from an electronic ID card or a photocopy of ID cards of both parents or guardians.

In addition to the aforementioned documents, male and female candidates from vulnerable social groups are also to submit the documentation proving:

  • Disability of the child/parent (medical documentation),
  • War invalids (certificate),
  • The family's single-parent status (parent's death certificate, copies of a court ruling on the independent exercise of parental rights, or a death certificate or other document proving that one parent takes care of the child, etc.),
  • The family’s tenant status (a copy of the contract with the landlord) and other documents,
  • A certificate of refugee status of both or one parent/guardian (a copy of a refugee ID or a certificate from the Commissariat for Refugees and Displaced Persons),
  • A certificate of volunteering, if the student volunteered in an institution or organization,
  • Other relevant documents.

The documents submitted for the call will not be returned.

The call will be open until August 23, 2019.

Applications are to be submitted to the address of the "Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation", Ilije Garašanina 53 a, 11000 Belgrade, including the note "For Student Scholarships".

The decision on selected students will be made three weeks after the closing date for applications. Untimely and incomplete call documentation will not be considered.

The "Ana and Vlade Divac" Foundation will not reject the applications of candidates who already receive scholarships from other sources (municipal, state scholarships, etc.), except in the case of those who receive scholarship for exceptionally talented students of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia.

The sequence of male and female candidate for receiving student scholarship shall be set on the basis of:

1) Success achieved in previous education:   

  • General success over the last three years of schooling,
  • Prizes won in competitions and sports results,

 

2) The socio-economic status of the family. 

The socio-economic status of the family is determined on the basis of the average monthly income per member of the family of the student, for the last three months of the current year, and documentation proving the disability of the child/parent/guardian, the family's single-parent status, the family’s tenant status etc.  

The student is granted a scholarship payment for a period of 10 months during the school year, in equal monthly installments.
