The South Serbia Fund and its partner on the project "Partnership for Sustainable Development" issued a call aimed at supporting civil society organizations working on the improvement of the position of citizens and on the development of their communities in southern Serbian municipalities and cities.
The competition is open for the organizations registered in five southern Serbian regions – Jablanica, Pcinj, Toplica, Nis and Pirot districts.
The proposed project activities should focus on creating various contents that meet the specific needs of people in the following areas:
– Improvement of the position of young people,
– Media and public interest at the local level,
– Citizen participation in decision-making at the local level,
– Entrepreneurship as an instrument of community development,
– Science in the service of citizens and
– Promotion of the identity of South Serbia.
By this competition, the South Serbia Fund wants to encourage future donors to mobilize local resources for the development of their communities. The Fund believes that there is enough potential and capacity in each community and that it is necessary to encourage people and awaken their activism. Therefore, the Fund expects local initiatives to provide half of the resources (in funds, equipment, services, premises) for the implementation of their project proposals.
This competition promotes the principle of equal opportunities, where all local players, either as those responsible for the activities or as partners, can achieve their vision of improving the communities in which they live.
The South Serbia Fund was established as a result of many years of work of the consortium of civil society organizations from Nis in the field of strengthening the influence of the civil sector on social changes in South Serbia. The "South Serbia Fund" project is implemented by the Media and Reform Center Nis, the National Coalition for Decentralization (NCD), the Proaktiv NGO, the ENECA and the Center for the Development of Leadership, including the financial support of the Rockefeller Brothers Foundation (RBF).
The competition is open until July 21st, while interested parties can apply to the address
