The Ministry of European Integration of the Government of the Republic of Serbia launched a prize competition for the selection of the best individual student papers on European integration and the process of accession of our country to the European Union.

The aim of the prize competition is to directly involve young academic citizens in an open argumentative debate on important aspects of the accession process and membership of the Republic of Serbia in the European Union.

The papers should answer one of the following five questions:

1. What are the challenges and factors that affect Serbia's accession process?
2. How does the process of European integration make and support Serbia's reform potentials?
3. What makes a European idea, a European integration project and a social and value model of the EU attractive?
4. What prejudices about the European integration of Serbia exist and in what way could they be overcome? 
5. What kind of a reformed European Union should a reformed Serbia join?

The commission comprised of professors of the University of Belgrade will evaluate the quality of the received papers, while the fees in the amount of 85,000, 55,000 and 35,000 dinars will be paid to the authors of the best three papers. In addition to the three best ranked papers, papers that fulfill the criteria will be published in the electronic journal of student works.  

Eligible to apply are male and female students of the program of basic academic studies and program of master academic studies of all universities in the Republic of Serbia.

The deadline for submitting the papers is May 31, 2019.
