All interested companies are asked to apply for participating in the work practice program implemented by the Belgrade Open School (BOS,) in partnership with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia. The call was issued as part of the “PRAKSAM III” project – Introducing Young People to the World of Work through Work Practices", which aims to strengthen the capacity of companies to implement the work practice program, as well as provide support to improving the employability of young people in Serbia.
What do companies get by participating in the work practice program?
- Targeted selection of trainees by experts in accordance with the needs – a professional project team will draw up a public call and lead the process of selecting candidates on the basis of the needs of the interested companies. Representatives of the companies will have the opportunity to participate in the selection of trainees for the positions in their companies.
- The administration of the practice program by the BOS without the burden for companies – the conclusion of contracts with trainees and the administration of their compensations for covering transport and food costs.
- Support to the mentoring process during the practice program – employees from the selected companies will get a chance to improve their mentoring skills through specially designed training.
- Continued promotion at the regional and national levels – through the online and media campaigns to be organized as parts of the project.
- Trained staff – if they are satisfied with the achievements of trainees in the three-month period, they will be able to include them in their teams’ staff!
So far, over 80 young people from more than 50 companies and public institutions have undergone these programs, while 80% of them were employed at the end of practice.
By participating in the work practice program, the companies that have the potential to increase their business operations will have the opportunity to get educated and talented young people, who are unemployed, and make it possible for them to gain the necessary work experience and connect with the world of work, with no additional burdens on their budgets.
Eligible to apply are all the companies that meet the following requirements:
- Do business in the territory of Serbia and the majority of which is privately owned.
- Have a real chance to achieve growth and development and the need for expanding or hiring new workers.
- Can clearly define the position and job description for the trainees that they lack, as well as describe the profile of the trainee, the potential employee.
- Can provide practice to the youth for a period of three months, which will run from October 1 to December 31, 2017.
- Can provide mentoring during practice.
The advantage in the call will be given to small and medium-sized companies that do not have developed practice programs.
