The Open Society Foundation, Serbia issued a call for proposals under the program "Participation of Citizens in Democratic Governance".

The projects that can be submitted to the competition are those which:

– Affirm democratic and European values and contribute to the improvement of policies and legislation in the EU integration process, with a thematic focus on strengthening basic democratic institutions and practices, the rule of law and respect for human rights;

-Establish cooperation between the academic community, think-tanks, trade unions, non-governmental organizations, informal groups and social movements for the purpose of opening up dialogue and advocating for socially sustainable policies, solidarity and justice, especially in the fields of protection of social and economic rights, urban development and the so-called digital revolution.

Projects can be submitted by civil society organizations (citizen associations, professional associations, chambers), universities, institutes, state and local authorities.

Projects dealing with freedom of speech, the right to information, the rights of national minorities, the right to free access to information and the protection of personal data will not be considered, because these areas are the subject of competitions of other Foundation’s programs.
