Belgrade – The Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, in cooperation with a group of donors, issued a call for scholarships to students from the most vulnerable groups, who are to be enrolled in the first, second, third or fourth year of secondary school in the Republic of Serbia in 2018.

Particular preference in granting scholarships will be given to the students from vulnerable groups, such as the financially vulnerable families, single-families, refugee and displaced families, persons with disabilities, families in which a parent or a child suffers from a chronic disease, etc. 

There is still a large number of children in Serbia who are outside of the education system, or whose parents or guardians have difficulties with providing the most basic conditions for their education. The Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, through the "Divac Scholarship" program, continuously helps children from the most disadvantaged social groups, so that they could have equal starting positions in the course of their education, which leads to a reduction in the levels of poverty, social exclusion and discrimination. Also, thanks to better education, easier integration into the world of work and greater independence are provided to young people.

Eligible for the scholarships are the students who have achieved great success in learning and behavior, as well as those who participated and achieved success in various competitions and had good results in sports. Students who are selected in the competition will be required to volunteer at least four hours a month and thus contribute to the promotion of a culture of giving in our society.

The competition will run from August 20 to September 7, 2018.
