The Office for Human and Minority Rights issued a call for project proposals of civic associations for the purpose of promoting and protecting human rights in the Republic of Serbia, which is part of the "Implementation of Anti-Discrimination Policies in the Republic of Serbia in 2018".
The call is issued for funding the associations registered in the Republic of Serbia, which submitted a project proposal in cooperation with at least one other association. Financial resources will be allocated to the associations that submit project proposals to the Office for Human and Minority Rights, by which the following objectives ought to be achieved:
1. Encouraging the positive action of the society towards individual sensitive community groups and individuals in those groups, particularly in view of the children and young people that are at risk of being excluded, women, persons with disabilities, the elderly, LGBT persons, refugees and IDPs;
2. Developing and encouraging education and public awareness on the importance of tolerance and respect for diversity in order to reduce the general level of discrimination;
3. Improving the monitoring of the recommendations of UN mechanisms for human rights in order to improve the position of vulnerable social groups.
