Medvedja – The deadline for the submission of applications for participating in the training in business start-ups/ business improvement and the award of grants to young married couples, young mothers and women is September 7.
The project "We are Working for a Better Future of Children" is a partnership project of the City of Leskovac and the municipalities of Medvedja, Vlasotince and Lebane, funded by the Office of the Minister without Portfolio, which is responsible for Demography and Population Policy of the Republic of Serbia.
On that occasion, a presentation of the public call was held in the hall of the Cultural Center of the municipality of Medvedja, while Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, welcomed the young couples, as well as other interested parties, and referred to the previous period and the results which he and his team achieved in order to keep young people in Medvedja and enable them to start their families there.
“A lot has been done on providing the conditions for keeping our youth here and not letting them leave their birthplace. We take care of every young person. At the same time, I must point out that we took special care of the young with university education. These measures will only further contribute to enabling young people to engage in private entrepreneurship and start small businesses, given that the conditions are very favorable. By providing non-financial and financial assistance through this project, we will encourage self-employment and employment of target groups, " Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, said.
The presentation of the public call was attended by Dragana Belenzada, the Director of the Center for Development of Jablanica and Pcinj Districts, who presented the project and the guidelines for applying.
"These measures are aimed at developing and promoting entrepreneurial spirit and encouraging entrepreneurship among unemployed young couples, young mothers and women, as well as at providing business support and development to the newly established and existing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, entrepreneurs and agro farms," Ms. Belenzada said.
The program is implemented in two phases:
Phase I of the program – the training,
Phase II of the program – the allocation of grants and mentoring.
