The NLB Bank from Belgrade issued the NLB Organic call for applications. The call is open until May 20, 2019, while eligible to apply are individual agricultural producers with registered farms who are certified or in the process of certification for organic production, including producers who have a group certificate or a contract with the organizer of production.
Projects are to be submitted by post, to the address of NLB Bank Belgrade, Bulevar Mihajla Pupina 165v, with a note "Competition for Best Organic Production and Food Processing Projects" or electronically to: organic@nlb.rs.
The NLB Bank will award three authors of the projects, which the expert commission assesses as the best ones, with a sum of 500,000 dinars.
“Agriculture is one of the key segments in the business activities of the NLB Bank and we pay great attention to it. In addition to products and services from its regular offer, which include favorable financing in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Local Self-Governments, we have also gathered a team of experts-advisors for agriculture, who are well aware of this field, its specificities and needs, and who are available to farmers where they live and work – in the field. Organic agriculture has a significant place in the sphere of socially responsible business, too, which contributes to sustainable development, human health and environmental protection. Due to the complex process of establishing organic production, obtaining appropriate certificates and a very demanding production process, organic production requires the support of all relevant institutions. We recognized this need, and the interest of organic producers for our competition grows year after year, "said Branko Greganovic, the President of the Executive Board of the NLB Bank Belgrade.
As of 2012, a total of 354 projects took part in the NLB Organic Competition.
