Bujanovac – As part of the "European Partnership with Municipalities" program, the municipality of Bujanovac received from the European Progress program funds in the amount of 200, 000 euros, which are intended for the purchase of the equipment for a transfer station.

Saip Kamberi, the Mayor of Bujanovac, said that the said project directly supported the procurement of the equipment for the collection and processing of waste in the transfer station, which would be enlarged until the end of the year.

”We intend to start implementing the project as soon as possible, so that we could get it into a state in which it could begin operating.  Construction works are underway, as well as those related to its infrastructure. The funds were allocated from the budget of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, whereas the goal is to complete works on the transfer station by the end of 2017 ".

Under the plan for waste management in the area of the municipality of Bujanovac, the transfer station, where the selective separation of waste will be performed, is of particular importance.

The municipality of Bujanovac got the major project for the construction of a transfer station for waste management as a donation from the European Progress program in 2013.

The project is part of the Regional Plan for Waste Management of the Pcinj District and it will contribute to the improvement of environmental protection in Bujanovac and the entire district.

“The current state of waste management in the municipality of Bujanovac is not satisfactory. Therefore, we must ensure conditions for the realization of the transfer station, which will greatly affect the quality of the environment in Bujanovac, "Mayor Kamberi said.
