Bujanovac – The garbage dump in Bujanovac has been burning for several days, while the smoke and stench coming from it threatened to suffocate the city over the weekend.

Numerous readers of the Bujanovac News portal were sending photos to the portal. They panicked and reported that they were suffocating and that it had never been like that until then.

Although it was sunny in Bujanovac on Sunday, visibility in the main street was reduced, so that it looked as if it had been foggy in the city.

The most critical were parts of the city located closer to the garbage dump, which is situated next to the old road to Vranje, close to Bivoda.

A reader sent to the portal a picture taken on Saturday around 8 pm, which shows the flames from the garbage dump.

"This is a disaster, we cannot breathe," said a reader from Vojvode Stepe Street.

The situation in Josif Janjic Street and New Settlement was not any better, either.
