Bujanovac – The post of an educational inspector in the municipality of Bujanovac has been unfulfilled for nearly a year and a half, and as Driton Redzepi, the Head of the municipal Department of Public Service, said, the relevant municipal departments do not have an insight into what goes on in Bujanovac schools.  

The municipal educational inspector controls the compliance with all the prescribed conditions for teaching and learning, respect and protection of the rights and obligations of employees and students and their parents.

Mr. Redzepi singled out this problem while he was presenting the report on the work of the Department of Public Service for 2017 at a session of the Municipal Council. 

“We have not been able to find a municipal education inspector so far. This means that we can not have an insight into whether the schools in our community operate in accordance with the regulations, for instance, when new employees are hired or if the conditions in which teaching takes place are appropriate,” Mr. Redzepi said.

The explanation why two secondary and eleven primary schools in the municipality of Bujanovac have not been controlled for a long time was provided by Stojanca Arsic.

 the Deputy Mayor of Bujanovac.  

“We need the consent of the authorities to employ someone in that position, but also to find a quality candidate that is sufficiently qualified, which this position requires,” Mr. Arsic said, adding that no one was against it. 

"We will try to get that position," he said.

Mr. Arsic also said that the municipality of Bujanovac had had two educational inspectors a few years before.
