Bujanovac – At the jubilee 5th International Beekeeping Fair held in Bujanovac, all records were broken – both in the number of exhibitors and visitors, who were from all over the region.
The fact that “Bee Knows No Boundaries”, which is the name of the fair that has been organized by the Bujanovac Beekeepers Association "Polen 2012" for five years in a row, was confirmed at the sports hall in Bujanovac.
“Now I can say that our seminar – fair has become a serious event. We, as the organizers, are pleased, the exhibitors, about 50 of them, are pleased, as well as the numerous visitors. There were many of them , both local beekeepers and those from abroad. We are growing year by year, "said Zarije Mitic, the Chairman of the Association.
Beekeepers from the area were able to exchange experiences with their colleagues from the surrounding countries, learn something new at professional lectures held at the fair, but also buy all types of beekeeping equipment.
“Our multi-ethnic association has 54 members with about 2,300 hives. We are enlarging both figures, and such an event certainly contributes to that. Members of the association are fellow Albanians from the Bujanovac municipality, but also those from Kosovo and Metohija, ”said Mr. Mitic.
The Deputy Chairman of the Association, Vasuf Alimi from the village of Nesalce, who has been involved in beekeeping since childhood – for 60 years, stressed that the date of holding the fair was more than appropriate as "every beekeeper needs something now, on the threshold of spring".
“See how much is being bought, everyone is carring some beekeeping equipment. We have enabled people to get everything they need in one place, that means a lot, "Mr. Alimi said.
Miodrag Radovic from Leskovac, the owner of the company for manufacruring beekeeping equipment, who has been exhibiting his products at the fair in Bujanovac since the very beginning, which was five years ago, confirmed that everything was selling well and that interest was high.
When it comes to the visirors from abroad, the most numerous were Macedonians, who said that they were close to Bujanovac, and that everything was cheaper there.
The selection is great, so that I found everything I needed and, of course, bought it because the prices are much more affordable here than in Northern Macedonia. I am in Bujanovac for the first time and I can say that I will come to purchase things next year as well, "said Vladimir Lazarevic from Skopje.
No less satisfied were the local beekeepers.
Momcilo Popovic from Bujanovac says that the offer is quite solid and that all his fellow beekeepers from other places told him that they were satisfied with the fair.
“We beekeepers are now, in the spring, supplied here, and in the fall at the fair in Vranje. There is no need to go any further neither for us nor for our colleagues from Kosovo and Metohija and Northern Macedonia. That's good and should continue like that, "he says.
Unlike the previous years, there were no representatives of the local self-government at the event, which attracted so many people from the country and abroad, although they had been invited.
