Bujanovac, Radovnica, Trgoviste –  The baby crib factory "Simpo" in the village Radovnica near Trgoviste, one year after the restart of production, records extra-ordinary results, since the entire production goes for export, which is in accordance with already reached agreement.

Mile Mitic, the Director of the 55-worker plant, says that since June last year, basic economic indicators, such as production, productivity, staffing and earnings, have been on a steady rise.

“According to the contract concluded with a German partner, we have sold 100% of our production to the customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the United Kingdom over the previouis year,” Mr. Mitic said.

The Director points out that Simpo's management is already making analyzes in order to employ around thirty new employees by November, thus responding to new requests from the European customers. He recalls that these results are not yet at the level of those when the Radovnica crib factory exclusively supplied the great “Ikea” and its picky customers from around the world.

"However, financially speaking, our monthly production is currently between 80 and 90 thousand euros, while a new buyer from Denmark is asking us to sign a contract for a regular monthly delivery of cribs for 50,000 euros," Mr. Mitic says.

It is obvious that solid wood cribs are in great demand everywhere, especially for customers in the European Union who know very well what good quality furniture is.

The volume of production, quality and regular deliveries also affected the wages of the workers, so that the current average salary in the factory, including a stimulating portion of the wages, is 33,000 dinars.

Of course, the locals are pleased with such earnings, because only yesterday the factory was in agony, the end of which could not be seen.

It should be said that the village of Radovnica, with almost 1,000 inhabitants, is the largest village in the municipality of Trgoviste, where, in addition to Simpo’s plant,, there is also a Jumko garment plant, which employs 50 workers.

Nenad Krstic, the Mayor of Targoviste, explains how important this is for the local economy:

“The families of the employees, local trade, and then the local self-government, whose budget  keeps increasing month by month, have the biggest benefits of these two factories,” Mr. Krstic said with pleasure.
