Serbia and Northern Macedonia signed an Agreement on establishing joint controls at the Tabanovce-Presevo border crossing on July 12.
For travelers and trucks moving from Serbia to Northern Macedonia, the Serbian Border Service will carry out exit controls in the territory of Northern Macedonia, while for those traveling in the opposite direction, exit checks will be conducted in the territory of Serbia by the Macedonian Border Service, at the Presevo border crossing.
The concept of joint border controls with one stop (One Stop Shop) means simplifying the procedures that are implemented at a common border crossing, with one stop.
Joint customs clearance will allow for a higher degree of border control harmonization and improved implementation of the integrated border management concept, which will reduce the possibility of customs fraud, due to direct insight into the documentation accompanying goods, which will also speed up the flow of passengers and goods.
