“Under the 2016 budget, funds in the amount of 10 million dinars were earmarked for agriculture, which is twice more than the last year's amount. Of this amount, 9.5 million dinars was earmarked for investment in the purchase of machinery, livestock and irrigation systems, while 500 thousand dinars were allocated for the measure of artificial insemination of cows and heifers, "Mayor Arsic said.
The agreements were signed by 56 farmers participating in the incentive program for the purchase of devices for agricultural holdings, in the total amount of 3.100.000 dinars.
The last, fourth, tranche still remains to be paid from the budget to around 30 beneficiaries until the end of the year. Mayor Arsic noted that the competition for the measure of artificial insemination was still ongoing, and that around 70 requests, totaling 395,500 dinars, had been submitted.
Mr. Pesic said that the plan also included the program of cross-border cooperation between Macedonia and Serbia, in the context of the IPA – project of interregional cooperation, in the amount of 600 thousand euros, where the municipality of Medvedja would receive half of the said amount.
Participants in the discussion included the farmers, too, who underlined the overall situation in the field.
