Medvedja – A Russian humanitarian organization organized, in Russia, the collection of funds for the purchase and fitting out of an ambulance for the health center in Medvedja. The campaign was supported by Milos Bikovic, a young star of the Serbian and Russian film.  

Difficulties in organizing the transport of doctors in the municipality of Medvedja are caused by the difficult terrain configuration, sprawled settlements and the distance among them. The vehicle fleet of the health center includes only a few vehicles of "Lada Niva 2131" make, which are  from 2008, 2009 and 2013, two of which are not roadworthy, so that they are not used.  In addition, lying down patients cannot be transported by them. 

The health center in Medvedja is not the only medical institution in the region, but as the medical stations at Ravna Spa, Bucumet, Tulare, Lece and Redkocer are not regularly supplied with medicines and medical devices, care for the patients in the region, especially seriously ill patients, is entrusted to the doctors in Medvedja and to the infirmary at Sijarinska Spa.

The new ambulance is necessary not only for the purpose of  increasing the quality and level of health care in Medvedja, but it is also a vital need of the people who live in the hard to reach, remote areas of the municipality, with underdeveloped transport and road infrastructure.

Funds for the purchase of the ambulance were collected by the Russian citizens. The main portion of the funds for equipping the ambulance was collected by the Aliser Usmanov’s Fund "The Art, Science and Sports."

The official handover of the ambulance to the management and staff of the health center in Medvedja will be held on July 27, 2017.
