Bujanovac – On the premises of the Adult Education Center, an agreement was signed for a project called Change for Roma, which includes training and education of Roma adults from the area of the municipalities of Bujanovac and Vranje.
The agreement was signed by and between Kenan Rasitovic, the Chairman of the NGO "OFER" in Bujanovac, and Zvezdan Ramic, the Chairman of the Roma Cultural Center in Vranjska Banja, on the one side and Gordana Dimitrijevic, the Head of the Adult Education Center in Vranje, on the other.
On that occasion, Ms. Dimitijevic said that as much as 80 percent of the training consisted of practical work.
“In the previous years, there were doubts among the partners about how the people of the Roma population would behave and manage to master the training program, but they proved to be hard-working and interested in what was being shown to them. Sometimes we are prejudiced, but practice shows that we have to work on changing people's awareness, both among the Roma, the employers and the entire community, ”said the Head of the Adult Education Center.
Mr. Rasitovic said that the OFER organization hoped the agreement would provide successful training for 26 Roma nationals who had applied for the call.
“We hope that beneficiaries of the training will use the knowledge and skills they acquire during the training to secure jobs and livelihoods for themselves, " Mr. Rasitovic said.
The training for eight different professions will be conducted in Bujanovac and Vranje.
The certificates that will be given at the end of the training are recognized both in the country and abroad.
