Bujanovac – The municipality of Bujanovac earmarked 6 million dinars in its budget for the Center for Social Work. Under the plan, a portion of these funds will be allocated for awarding one-off cash assistance to the most vulnerable families and individuals.

Nijazi Ahmeti, Director of the Center for Social Work, said for the “Titulli” portal that of that amount, 3.5 million dinars would be spent on one-off financial assistance, while 2.5 million dinars were the material costs of the Center.

He said that there were around 1,100 families in the municipality of Bujanovac that were receiving social assistance from the budget of the Republic of Serbia. The amount per person, who meets the prescribed requirements, is 8,000 dinars per month, while the amount reaches the sum of 20,000 dinars when it comes to the families with more than five members.  Mr. Ahmeti said that disabled persons, too, received social assistance, whose number rose to around 300 that year.

“Persons with light physical impairments and limitations receive about 11,000 dinars per month, while those with severe disabilities or limitations, handicapped persons in wheelchairs and blind persons receive one hundred percent of the amount of 27,000 dinars per month, "Mr. Ahmeti said.

He also said that social assistance amounts were delivered to immobile people in person, at their homes.
