Presevo – Zoran Stankovic, the President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, visited the municipality of Presevo, where he met with representatives of the local self- government and talked with them for the first time after the elections.

Zoran Stankovic promised to his interlocutors that the Government of the Republic of Serbia would consider all the requirements of the municipality of Presevo and would help with solving the problems. Mr. Stankovic said that he expected the allocation of the Coordination Body’s budget, which would amount to around one million euros.

"We talked about the problem of textbooks to be provided for the following school year. During the talks with representatives of the Albanian National Council, which were held at the Ministry of Education, it was agreed that the Council should, in the near future, propose the textbooks for translation at the beginning of the following year,” Mr. Stankovic said in Presevo.  

As he said, it was necessary to do a very large administrative job regarding the requirements of the municipality of Presevo, adding that he expected that the municipality of Presevo would hand in all its requirements to the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia by the following day. 

“We hope" he said, “that we will get all the requirements by tomorrow and that it would be a good basis for providing funds for the functioning of other systems in the municipality of Presevo. We hope that the funds of the Coordination Body this year, too, would be around one million euros and that it would help the local self-government. We also talked about the opening of the court unit in Presevo and a border crossing in Miratovac. We expect that both countries would provide the conditions for opening the border crossing with Macedonia, "Mr. Stankovic said.

The municipality of Presevo ​​has had a new government since the December elections, and after a long time, the Municipal Assembly of Presevo will include the coalition of Serbian parties' “Aleksandar Vucic – United for Serbia ", which crossed the census threshold and won two councilor mandates.
