Bujanovac, Vranje – Computer literacy of the elderly is a project of the Center for Social Integration of Vranje (CDI) which is, with the financial support of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia, to be implemented until June 1. The project will be implemented at the workshops in which the elderly will be trained in computing.

Two computer teachers, along with two computer teaching assistants, run the said workshops. They are responsible for training the elderly for the purpose of developing their digital and computer literacy skills.

"The digital technology novelties, which advance rapidly, are the stumbling block for members of the third-age generation regardless of their educational background. That is why the Center for Social Integration organized training in computer skills that is meant to raise their digital and computer competences," said Anita Stojanovic, the Coordinator of the Project.

The trainings are held on the premises of the Vranje-based Center for the Development of Local Social Care Services every working day.

So far, 60 pensioners, split up in five groups, have undergone the training. The trainings are free and those interested in them can sign up every working day from 6 pm to 8 pm.
