The national platform “Serbia Creates” and the Playrix RS video game development studio from Novi Sad, with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), invite all professional artists and creative persons of all profiles to apply for the "From Inspiration to Works of Art" competition.
To participate in the competition, it is necessary to send the author's video lasting a maximum of 10 minutes, in which the author shows his/her creative path in a original, innovative and educational way – from inspiration to the creation of a work of art. How do you create? What inspires you? Why is this kind of expression important to you and society? How do new technologies affect the creation, the role of the creator and the presentation of a work of art? – are just some of the questions the author needs to answer.
Works of art should be sent to konkurs@serbiacreates.rs via WeTransfer, by May 31, 2020, at the latest. The expert commission, which consists of prominent representatives of the cultural and creative sector, will select 30 best works, whose authors will be financed with the amount of 75,000 dinars.
The goal and idea of the competition is to provide support to artists and creative persons who were unable to work due to the outbreak of the pandemic, which is why many of them got into a difficult financial situation, said Ana Ilic, Senior Advisor for Creative Industries and Tourism to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, who leads the team of the "Serbia Creates" platform.
“However, that did not stop them from finding a way to reach their audience from their homes, even in times of crisis. They provided comfort, encouragement, inspiration and motivation with their numerous artistic and creative works. We want to point to the enormous importance and necessity of culture, arts and creative industries, which were essential during the state of emergency. It is time for us to support them now, "Ms. Ilic said.
