Мedvedja – Considering that even after the abolition of the state of emergency in the country, certain measures remained in force in order to prevent the spread and reduce the risk of COVID-19, the municipality of Medvedja celebrated the Day of the Municipality on May 20 without any invitees and guests. The municipality of Medvedja marks on this day the memory of the formation of the First Serbian Division in Gajtan, after which Gornja Jablanica was liberated from the occupiers in the Second World War.
“On the occasion of marking the Day of the Municipality of Medvedja, I would like to send words of congratulations to the residents of Medvedja and thank them for their selfless and huge support during all these years. Each of our successes is the success of each individual, and no result and step forward would be possible without you and your understanding of the direction we have traced and started. We would not be here without you and we are just a reflection of what our small but proud community does. As we are aware of all the advantages and successes, so are we aware of those shortcomings and bad things that we try to resolve, not allowing ourselves to be carried away by a nice word and the position we hold. We will try to be even more present here among you, because whenever we listened to the voice of the people, we did not make a mistake. We have chosen to pay the bills to the people, and to earn for living by working, and not to get something that obliges us to give it back tomorrow. It is up to you to continue to be proud residents of Medvedja who will seek their happiness in this region, and yet with open arms to each visitor, as hospitable as only you can be. Dear fellow citizens of the Municipality of Medvedja, a happy Municipality Day to you!”
