Bujanovac – We have witnessed in recent years that religious facilities, such as chambers, are in a worsening condition. The roofs are leaking, the windows and doors are broken, and there are no cutlery and drinking water in them.  And the chambers themselves are overgrown with bushes and weeds, so that it is difficult for the believers during the memorial services, village celebrations and other religious rites.

One of such facilities was the chamber within the church of St. Ilija in the village of Levosoje, which is used by the locals of the village of Oslare. The aforementioned facility was not renovated for the last thirty years, until now. There was no drinking water in the chamber, there was a lack of cutlery, while birds were getting into it through the cracked windows. The floor was ruined, the tables were rotting, and some were broken, while the installations were often faulty. The facade of the chamber was dilapidated, while the roof was damaged in some places, without gutters, so that moisture easily seeped into the walls and slowly ruined them.

However, the residents of the village of Oslare decided to roll up their sleeves and completely renovate their religious facility.

The voluntary labor activity was based on people’s good will. Therefore, the bravest and most zealous for the job were the first to volunteer. They started from the floor. New tiles have been glued to the floor. New doors and windows have been put in. New lighting inside and outside of the facility has been installed. A new facade on the interior walls has been done. New cutlery has been purchased. Inside the chamber, water – supply Has been done and a new sink, a new kitchen and a new fireplace have been put in. New tables have also been set up.

A new facade has been made on the outer part of the facility, and gutters have been installed, so that the Oslare chamber shines with a new glow now.  

The locals of the village of Oslare would not have been able to do all this without the sponsors, donors and people of good will. The villagers of Oslare, therefore, thank all those who in any way helped them with the renovation of their chamber.
