Presevo, Nis – Since the beginning of the year, customs officers have prevented 532 migrants from crossing the state border illegally. Such cases occur on a daily basis, while on June 17 alone, 45 migrants were prevented from doing that, the Customs Administration stated.

On that day, 20 migrants from Afghanistan were discovered at the Presevo border crossing and at the goods and customs terminal of the Public Company Airports of Serbia in Nis.
Although there were undamaged customs seals of Northern Macedonia on the trucks, in three of the four of them, which were transporting coils of metal wire from Greece for the importer from Nis, "illegal persons" were found during the control – a total of 13 young Afghans.
On the same day, customs officers found seven migrants from Afghanistan in a truck loaded with watermelons at the Presevo border crossing. The "stowaways" were found during a detailed inspection of a truck with Leskovac license plates, which was transporting fresh watermelons from Greece to Leskovac.
