The program of the Government of the Republic of Serbia "My First Salary" is implemented by the National Employment Office, with the support of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans’ and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Office for IT and Electronic Administration and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

The goal of the program is to encourage youth employment and provide support to the economy in solving the problem of staff shortages. The program will enable 10,000 young people in Serbia with secondary school and university education, who are up to the age of 30 and without any work experience, to be able to work unaided on specific jobs.

The employers who are interested in participating in the Program are to publish specific job positions (with job descriptions in Serbian) where young people will be trained to work independently according to an established program approved by the National Employment Office, with a mentor that will supervise them and provide support.

The program is implemented with employers in the private or public sector, who apply to the Public Call of the National Employment Office (https://mojaprvaplata.gov.rs/Document/JavniPoziv.pdf ), in accordance with the Regulation on the Youth Employment Promotion Program "My First Salary”. The call is open to all business entities that conduct business operations in the territory of the Republic of Serbia (entrepreneurs, micro, small, medium-sized and large legal entities).

Young people with completed secondary school education are to be provided with a monthly financial compensation in the amount of 20,000.00 dinars, while those with completed university education are to receive the compensation amounting to 24,000.00 dinars. A total of two billion dinars from the budget of the Republic of Serbia has been allocated for the "My First Salary" Program. The funds will be paid directly to the persons undergoing the training, through the National Employment Office. In addition to the amount paid by the state, employers will also be able pay additional funds.  Contributions in case of injuries at work and occupational diseases will also be paid in accordance with the law. Training for doing work lasts nine months.

Application of employers and the publishing of positions

Application of candidates for positions

October 16 to 31
Selection of candidates

November 1 to 7
Final list of the candidates by positions and employers

November 8 to December 7
The signing of contracts and the beginning of training.

The working group of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, consisting of representatives of the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Employment Office and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, will be in charge of monitoring the implementation of the Program.
