Меdvedja – The President of the Municipality of Medvedja, Nebojsa Arsic, along with his Deputy, Goran Ivanovic, visited the Municipal Library "Petar Petrovic Njegos", which was founded back in 1996 and which is located in the building of the Cultural Center.

During the visit, and while talking with the acting director of the library, Tijana Pejić, the issue of solving the problem of the existing premises, which do not meet the needs of storage of the entire library material, was discussed. .

The library has a fund of over 40,000 bibliographic items from all areas of human creativity. Those are works of domestic and world literature, while the Homeland Fund and the Legacy of Dobrosav Turovic have a significant place in the library, They contain rich collections of photographs, posters, postcards, cartographic materials, old deeds and immigration lists, as well as transcripts from the Bulgarian and Montenegrin church and birth registers.

The room in which the Legacy will be housed at this library is being fixed up, while the creation of the Hilandar Corner with donations of books from the Hilandar monastery is also planned.

The municipal library plans to digitize the material collected from the late Dobrosav Turovic, which he bequeathed to the library, in the coming period. In order for it to be available to the widest possible circle of users in the country and abroad, as well as protected and preserved, it is necessary to preserve his correspondence in digital form.

The library encourages the use of the library material by all categories of the population through various forms of activities, starting from preschool children – through workshops, to schoolchildren – through literal competitions.
