LET’S PROVIDE TABLETS AND THE INTERNET FOR 274 VULNERABLE CHILDREN

The consequences of the coronavirus are still unpredictable, but one thing is certain – the inequalities in society, which already exist, have become even more pronounced and greater during the pandemic.

The consequences of the coronavirus are still unpredictable, but one thing is certain – the inequalities in society, which already exist, have become even more pronounced and greater during the pandemic. Over the past month, these inequalities were mostly visible in the sphere of education and the impossibility of following up classes from home by a large number of schoolchildren.

The exact number of such children is not known, while the only data on them come from the organizations that worked with them before the coronavirus had arrived. Wishing to unite, as they did many times during COVID-19, the organizations SOS Children's Villages Serbia, ADRA and Music Art Project, together with the Catalyst Balkans Foundation that brought them together, decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign and not allow any child they work with to lag behind their peers.

In the territory of a total of seven cities in which they provide their services (Belgrade, Obrenovac, Kraljevo, Leskovac, Bujanovac, Surdulica, Nis), these organizations have identified at least 274 children from marginalized groups who they want to provide with the equipment for following up online classes throughout the school year (specifically, tablets and a stable Internet connection), so that they invite you to help the children not to miss their classes, socialize with their peers, learn and have the opportunity to progress and achieve good school results.

The SOS Children's Villages Serbia Foundation, the ADRA, the Music Art Project and the Catalyst Balkans Foundation invite all citizens, socially responsible companies, equipment manufacturers, distributors and operators to join this joint initiative and contribute to providing equal opportunities for all children in the way that suits them the most:

  • Through online donation via the donacije.rs platform,
  • Through a donation of good /services or
  • Through promotion.

The Group 484 and the Norwegian Embassy will double each donation amounting up to 235,000 RSD.
