Мedvedja – On the occasion of marking the breakthrough of the Thessaloniki Front and the liberation of Medvedja in the First World War, two exhibitions were held yesterday in the hall of the Cultural Center in Medvedja. One of them was dedicated to the totems of soldiers, while the other one was an exhibition of Serbian aviation from 1916 to 1918. Also, the book "General Dusan Krstic" was presented and prizes were awarded to elementary school students for specialized games about the breakthrough of the Thessaloniki Front, which were of an educational nature.

The historian and Director of the Krusevac Museum, Goran Vasic, first spoke about the book and the Serbian aviation, pointing out that the publication by Ognjen Petrovic was about a man who had been dealing with the topic for 50 years.

The promotion of the book was preceded by an address by the President of the municipality of Medvedja, Nebojsa Arsic, who emphasized that they were a municipality that adhered to tradition.

“We are a municipality that respects all its ancestors and supports all the monuments that our ancestors built and even builds some new ones. Today is the opportunity when we will consecrate and open a new memorial complex that will also remain for our generations. Today our youngest fellow citizens had the opportunity to find out what actually happened on October 6, 1918. Progress can only come if we respect our history," the municipal president said, addressing all the guests present at the event.

After the opening of the exhibition and the promotion of the book, a memorial complex was ceremoniously opened at the sightseeing platform, which offers a view of the entire town.
