Bujanovac – The municipality of Bujanovac received about 3,000 euros from the Swiss government for the prevention of women’s malignant diseases.  

The project of the Municipal Office for Local Economic Development (KLER) envisages the organization of lectures and education for women over the age of 15 on all ways of preventing malignant diseases with the aim of reducing the number of women suffering from cancer and increasing the number of women who regularly have preventive medical examinations, it was said on the website of the Swiss PRO program.  

In addition to Bujanovac, the program will support 27 other municipalities in Serbia to strengthen their gender equality mechanisms.  

The Swiss government has earmarked over 90,000 euros, while the contribution of local self-governments is around 25,000 euros.

The municipality of Bujanovac will not participate in the co-financing, and the full amount of 3,149 euros will be provided from the program.

It has been planned for 200 women from Bujanovac to undergo education on cancer prevention.
